Like it or not, there are many, many tire companies out there to pick from. This can make searching for the right tires very difficult and time consuming, especially if you are looking to find a good deal. Today, we’ll be helping you cross one off the list by taking a look into Akuret Tires in our guide.
Akuret Tire Company Background & information
Buckle up for this one because it is a rather interesting and potentially confusing one to explain. Akuret Tires are a brand that are a part of the family of ‘Del-Nat’ tires. Interestingly enough, Del-Nat Tires are no longer being sold, so we don’t know the status of Akuret as far as that goes. They do appear to be much easier to find, compared to Del-Nat, so it looks like they are still being made and sold.
And if not, then it’s still fairly strong as they have not been off the market, so to speak, for very long. The other part to the equation that has to be mentioned is that Del-Nat, and therefore Akuret, are under the thumb of TBC Brands. This is a company you are more likely to have heard of. This is one of the largest marketers in North America for tires.
They have several brands to them, including CrossWind, Harvest King, and Trailer King, among many others. Generally speaking, this is a company that focuses on selling affordable tires, and that is very much the case with Akuret Tires as well.
Akuret Tire Cost and Pricing
The main reason you would want to consider getting a set of Akuret Tires would have to be the relatively low price that you pay. As they are made in China, the price is naturally going to be lower than tires that are made elsewhere. That is just a fact of life that cannot be escaped, so you should take a look into that.
Tires produced in China, as well as other products, have a tendency to be much cheaper because they have lower labor costs and also due to a number of other economic factors that work to lower prices. While this does not speak to the quality of the goods very much, and sometimes can indicate that they won’t be as good as others, it’s safe to say that Akuret will be right up there for being some of the cheapest tires you can find. Competitive is another word that would be apt for describing their position.
Akuret Tire Warranty
One of the main drawbacks that you get with cheaper tires, and also ones that come out of China, is that the warranty suffers as a result. It’s pretty obvious why this is the case as well. If you have a lower priced good, then you likely will have less durability. No one would give you insurance on a house that is right in the middle of a flood zone would they?
In much the same way, you don’t get a ton of warranty coverage for tires that simply are not going to be made to hold up for very long. With Akuret Tires, we have not been able to get a firm grasp on any warranty information. With most of TBC Brands’ dealings, they do offer a limited warranty for you to take a look at. With that being said, we just are not sure here.
If you come across these tires and are interested, you should definitely ask about them and see what kind of warranty they are offered. We can’t imagine it would be a big one, but it is better than nothing if you can get it. Some Chinese made tires offer no warranty at all, so that could also be what is ultimately going to happen with this brand.
Tire Options
With Akuret Tires, it appears that there is a healthy amount of options to pick from. This brand gives you several choices to pick from, and they do so in a range of areas. From farm tires to tires for trailers and even the road, they do no seem to specialize in any one thing. We don’t particularly like this fact, but that is just the way it appears to be.
We would prefer to see them pick out one area and be an expert in it, in a perfect world, but they are a little bit all over the place. This helps you if you are looking for a niche item, sure, but it could come back to bite you in other areas.
Akuret Tire Technologies and Features
As with many companies out there on the market that operate in the less expensive portion of the market, you can expect Akuret to be far from in the lead as it comes to new tech and features. These tires are going to be relying upon older tech and features that are tried and true from years back.
This is not necessarily a bad thing, though, as it does drive down the price. It does mean that they are not going to be offering you a brand new feel and will not resolve some woe for you, but it does mean that they can worry about bringing you a good, lower price to pay. That’s the main benefit of Akuret Tires, like it or not, not their ability to innovate.
Akuret Tire Durability & Lifespan
A view online of these tires is not a very pretty one at all. It’s easy to find negative reviews on them, so that is something we have to mention. A number of folks have found that these tires have been left wanting in terms of durability. They simply do not hold up very well at all. A number of people have reported unexpected blow outs of their tires at times that just did not seem to make a lot of sense.
We’re talking about they had them for only a short period of time. We’d like to say it was just one issue causing it, too, but that doesn’t look to be the case, as there have been a couple of things, apparently, shown to be wrong, if not more. So, just because ‘X’ works well for you doesn’t mean that ‘Y’ won’t break down on you. It’s unfortunate, but like with so many other things, you do get what you pay for, we’re afraid.
Summary & Final Recommendations
We can understand why some people would be giving Akuret Tires a look. With so many potential brands out there, it can be sort of tough to find the right one for you. You see a low price, and you are instantly intrigued; it’s human nature. But there are real reservations to be had with Akuret Tires. Not all Chinese made tires are bad, by any means, but this brand is a real worry for you if you want to keep yourself, family, and others on the road safe. The durability is just not something we can promote, so you will have to weigh that risk for yourself before buying these tires and equipping them on your vehicle.
