One look into buying tires online is sure to give you a ton of results. Some of the time, well most of the time, this abundance of potential answers is enough to confuse even the best of us. Buying ‘normal’ passenger vehicles tires is hard enough, but buying something else can be even tougher. That’s what we’ll be looking at today as we dive into Astro Tires in our review.
Astro Tire Company Background & Informations
First and foremost, there could be some confusion in the name of ‘Astro’ Tires alone, so let’s clear that up, shall we? There is a Goodyear Astro tire that exists. It’s a reputable tire, but it is not what we are talking about today. The same can be said of a tire for an Astro van. If that’s what you are searching for, your search is best suited for somewhere else.
Now that that is out the way, Astro Tires is a company that traces it roots back to 1995. Since that time, they have been committed to bringing tires to the market that are made for light trucks, agriculture, and industrial means. This is fairly simple to understand. These are basically tires for working folks at the end of the day. Their website does indicate that they come out of Asia, though it does not specify which country. We would assume that they come from China, but we don’t have any way of knowing 100% for sure that it is the case.
Astro Tire Cost and Pricing
With many tires out of China and elsewhere in Asia, you get a lower price than usual. This is the case with Astro Tires. Having said that, it’s also important to realize that these tires are still not dirt cheap. Agriculture and industrial tires tend to be larger and heavier than other types of tires, so that naturally means that the will cost you more money than those that are smaller. Overall, if you are looking for a decent deal in terms of price, this is going to be a good place in which to look.
Astro Tire Warranties
Unfortunately, it does not look like there is much, if any, warranty, applied to Astro Tires’ offerings. At least if they have one, it’s not showing up on their website at all. We find that with many companies that come out of Asia that this is the case. Lower prices tend to end up yielding you with fewer benefits, with warranties being one area that you do not get to see much of. It’s possible that you could have a warranty, but it does appear to be rather unlikely.
Tire Options
With Astro Tires, work is a big commitment, so if you are working on the farm or in an industrial setting, then you are most likely going to be covered by something that they have. They have tractor tires and tires for other farm equipment as well, while they also offer tires for ‘light’ trucks as well. These can also help you get plenty of work done on their farm or elsewhere as well. A definite boost for sure.
Astro Tire Technologies and Features
With many of these types of companies, you are going to see lower tech than with more advanced brands out there. This just makes sense, seeing as how they cost less than tires from the larger brand names that exist. This is not to say that they are the equivalent of going back 50 years. That is much too extreme. But it does need saying that they will just not be as great as brands that are working to develop new ideas for use.
Astro Tire Durability
As far as tire durability goes, it’s really up in the air with this brand of tires. While we don’t believe they are junk, there just is not a lot of information about them online. This means that you don’t know what you are going to get, much like a box of chocolates… At any rate, with no warranties to speak of, it is even tougher to decipher whether or not they will last you very long. We would say average durability, but it’s also going to depend on how much and how well you use them, too.
Summary & Final Recommendations
If you are looking to save a few bucks on a set of tires for the farm, garden, or for industrial means, then you can do worse than looking at Astro Tires. They have a number of options to pick from, and they will be there for if you need to make a change.
