When it comes to buying tires, there are many things that you have to negotiate. One of those is actually finding the type of tires you are looking for. Most of the time, you will stumble upon set after set of passenger vehicle tires. For those that don’t want that, though, you will need to look elsewhere, such as is the case with BKT Tires.
BKT Tire Company Background & Information
BKT Tires are an abbreviation for Balkrishna Industries Limited, and as such you can probably ascertain for yourself where they come from- India. That, however, does not make these poor tires. Instead, it just means that they are going after a different market. The goal of BKT Tires is fairly simple in that they are trying to be the top producer of tires for the ‘off-highway’ market.
That means that they carry virtually anything you can think of that does not belong on the road. From tractors to trailers and much much more, you can just about find it from them. They even the official supplying tire of Monster Jam, helping to illustrate the point that we are seeking to make.
BKT Tire Cost and Pricing
As is the case with companies that set up shop in China, you can expect there to be certain advantages to buying tires from India. The main thing that you see is that the price is relatively low compared to others on the market.
This is because labor and the like make it cheaper to produce them, leading to a lower cost to you at the end of the day. While they will not be the bottom line lowest price you have ever seen, it’s safe to say that most people will be happy with the amount they end up paying for them.
BKT Tire Warranty
Warranties are always great because they can offer you a bit of safety and security just in case something goes wrong. Look at it like insurance. It is there just in case you need it, no more and no less.
Unfortunately, with BKT Tires we don’t see a whole lot of information on their warranty program. As such, we have to assume that they do no offer one. They may have one, but it’s also not likely to be very extensive as it just isn’t mentioned and is obviously not featured as a major piece of their overall strategy.
Tire Options
The number of choices you have with BKT Tires is simply amazing and startling. At the bottom of our review, you’ll see all of the choices, and the list is incredibly long. They offer just about everything for you.
From bias tires to radial tires in just about every ‘arena,’ they have it all. If you are racing big trucks or go karts, or if you are just working outside on the farm with a tractor, a trailer, or a golf cart, they have you covered. It is crazy to see how much they offer, and it all adds up and points to the fact that they have something for nearly everyone.
BKT Tire Technologies and Features
With BKT Tires, it’s hard to get a good grasp on things like technologies and features. Obviously, they have tech built into each of their tire offerings, there is no doubting that much.
But there are some very big questions to be asked. It’s quite taxing to carry so many tires like they do, and it makes you wonder if they are going to be as advanced as you might hope for them to be. With the price being generally low as well, it is very tough to see how on earth they will be able to give you something that the market has never seen before.
As far as features go, we think the fact that they have so many options is the go-to one there. You’ve just got so much to pick from, and as long as you don’t need to go down the traditional highway, you’re going to find something you may like.
BKT Tire Durability
BKT Tires are made in India, and that is going to represent a red flag for some folks. Like China, India tire manufactures do get a bit of a bad reputation in terms of quality, even if it’s not the same sort of rep. With that said, we don’t agree that this should always be the case. It’s not fair to instantly signal that they are terrible just because of where they come from.
You can have great products come from all over the globe, after all, as well as poor ones. With that said, we see BKT Tires as somewhere in the middle range of durability. They don’t cost a ton, and don’t seem to have a warranty, so you should not expect them to last forever.
Summary & Final Recommendations
Tire shopping can be an exhausting exercise for even the best of us, but it does not have to be as difficult as it seems. With BKT Tires, this process is made a whole simpler for you, assuming, of course, that you are not looking for a ‘road’ car. If you are, then you will need to look somewhere else. But if you do want something for work or fun, then you could do much worse than this gigantic off-road brand.
