Whenever you hit the open market for tires, a lot of confusion is sure to come along with it. There are tons and tons of companies out there, and for the most part, you’re going to only be finding passenger vehicle tires. If that’s not what you are looking for, it can be hard to find. So, today’s guide is going to focus solely upon Arisun Tires, a brand that does much more than just outfitting traditional cars and trucks.
Arisun Tire Company Background & Information
As is the case with many brands that exist today Arisun Tires are not truly a brand of their own. This is not meant to belittle them, mind you. It’s just a fact of life about them. This brand falls under the umbrella of that of the Hangzhou Zhongce Rubber Corporation. At one stage, they were the #1 tire manufacturer in all of China and they were routinely toward the top in the global charts as well.
That means they do have a ton of experience at selling and making tires. The idea of Arisun is that it represents their more ‘sporty’ range of tires. This brand is designed to be, very obviously, all about tires that are for having fun and going off road with. In addition to that, they also support racing teams as well, so it’s not a big surprise to see that they have decided to appeal to weekenders and part-timers by making their other examples of tires.
Arisun Tire Cost and Pricing
Let’s go ahead and get one fact out of the way early on: tires made for racing and off road activities are almost always going to be more expensive than tires that are made for passenger vehicles. That just makes good, old fashioned common sense, so that is something for you to be aware of. With that said, tires being made in China do have certain advantages.
On of those is, of course, having a lower general price than goods from elsewhere. That seems to be the case here with Arisun’s offerings. However, we also should point out that these are not the most ‘dirt’ cheap ones out there within this specific sphere. You still are able to find much cheaper, much more poorly made options out there. If budget is a moderate concern for you, these would fit well into that. If it’s a major issue, you might look elsewhere, though it’d be a bit of buyer beware.
Arisun Tire Warranty
As far as any warranty information goes, we have had difficulty finding anything of note on it. A look at their website, in and out, does not reference anything, so we don’t believe there is one. At least, the brand itself does not offer one. This is likely due to them being off road tires, which are going to be harder to measure in terms of mileage and the such. At any rate, you can always ask for warranty info with the dealer you’re using, as they may offer one that we are not aware of. That is not uncommon, but it is not a guarantee by any means.
Tire Options
As far as options go, obviously you are a little limited in the fact that Arisun’s brand is dedicated to making tires for off road excursions. If you don’t have a dune buggy, racing type of truck or jeep, or a modified type of car that works in a peculiar way, you’re likely not going to have a use for them. That aside, they offer eight tires by the appearance of their site.
Two of them are the same tire, only they have one for the front and one for the rear. The rear, of course, is wider as is the case with a whole lot of racing tires. It helps provide more grip and allows you to skate around corners much better. Racing isn’t the only concern, though. There are tires meant for cross terrains as well.
These tires can run on the regular road as well as being adept at going through mud and over the top of hard rocks, too. You’ve also got some of them that are specializing in going head to head with the mud mostly, so you’ve also got that option to turn to. The choice is up for you on what you want, but they do a decent job of giving you something to pick from. As for finding them, that can be a little difficult to do. The best way, still, is to find them online, as that seems to be the best bet at locating them currently.
Arisun Tire Technologies and Features
You might be a little bit surprised to learn that this company, as they are made in China, are able to bring some serious tech to the table. But that is most certainly what they do. This brand has worked hard on making their tires much more user friendly and durable, and it goes to show. One way they do this is through their ‘armor’ system.
This armor setup utilizes three belts- or basically lines of defense- of nylon for the sidewall. Anytime you have more than two lines of defense for a sidewall, the better. With just two ply sidewalls, you end up with more accidental punctures and scratches taking root. This takes that and undercuts it from occurring. Some of their tires actually go beyond this, with Kevlar being included, ratcheting up the protection even more than it was before. This should not be overlooked as it shows they are committed to pushing the boundaries of what is possible to aid you.
Arisun Tire Durability
If you are looking for durability, then you’ll have to be happy about what we just discussed. The sidewalls are reinforced, even in the level one of ‘armor,’ helping you to get more use of them than in the days of old when there just wasn’t that kind of technology around. On top of that, though, there is more here to the question of durability.
The other factor you’ve got to like and appreciate about it is that they do delve into racing. This is usually a good indicator of durability and the willingness to push the boundaries. Whenever this happens, you tend to see tires that last much longer than normal. While we won’t tell you these are going to last forever, we sure do find it tough to write them off as some that won’t hold up for very long. Just because they are ‘Made in China’ does not necessarily yield a poor return on your investment or mean that they will not hold up competitively.
Summary & Final Recommendations
If you are looking for a cheaper alternative for off road tires but you also want a fairly reputable name to throw your weight behind, then Arisun Tires could be just for you. They are a brand that is made in China, yes, but they have a strong history and backing to them that should more than make up for that. Plus, the lower prices (relatively speaking) should prompt you to give them a shot.
