Looking for your next set of tires can be considered tough work for some. It can be even more difficult, though, for those of us that are not looking to outfit our traditional cars. If you are looking for tires to help you work, then our subject today, Double Coin Tires, might just be what you have been looking for all along.
Double Coin Tire Background & Company Information
Tires can be hard enough to find if you want to put some on your car or truck. But it’s even more difficult for folks that are looking for something bigger to get tires beneath it. That is where Double Coin Tires come into play. Double Coin is in the business of providing tires for a number of bigger vehicles, such as for big rig trucks, buses, and off road equipment as well. Some would call them ‘heavy bits of machinery.’ As far as Double Coin itself, the brand has been around in the United States since 1992.
It is a part of the CMA company, which is based out of China as part of the Shanghai Huayi Group Corporation. Double Coin is just one of their brands, and it handles the bigger and heavier tires for them. Shanghai Huayi is a massive corporation that has its foot in a number of businesses besides the tire business, so it is not one of these flight by night companies that have suddenly popped up in the blink of an eye. They have 40,000 total employees and work in conjunction with companies like DuPont and BASF, among others.
Double Coin Tire Cost and Pricing
One of the main things that will come to your mind right away with the word ‘China’ is the cost of the tires. Most people, rightfully so in most cases, assume that the price is going to be lower. It’s easy to see why, too. The labor costs are lower to the manufacturers and there are a number of other reasons that prices are driven down that we don’t have to get into.
As far as Double Coin goes, their tires are not going to be the dirt cheap sort of models that you usually see coming out of China. They just aren’t. These tires are well made and are quality. Having said that, they also won’t be costing you as much as some of the bigger brands that are on the market, either, so that will probably help you out a lot when trying to make a decision on what to buy.
Double Coin Tire Warranties
One of the calling cards of many companies is a strong warranty program. Most Chinese based companies, however, do not offer one of those, or one at all, though. This is not the case with Double Coin, who offer a great program that is going to keep you extremely happy. Let’s begin with their TBR tires. They offer a seven year warranty on them.
While this is ‘limited,’ as all warranties are, whether you are told it or not, it is still quite significant. They even offer you three retreads per tires as well on all TBR products. We don’t see a whole lot of information about the off road tires, but we imagine that those would also have strong and sturdy warranties to back them up as well. This is a huge plus you just do not regularly see, so you should be very pleased to see this offered.
Double Coin Tire Options
As far as options are concerned, Double Coin Tires is mainly going to be in the market for big rig trucks tires. But that is not all. They also can be outfitted to buses as well. On top of that, they have a line of products for off road vehicles as well. They do not have as many of those as they do for the TBR tires, but they still offer a decent amount of diversity.
There are options for cranes and mining trucks, so you do get a whole range of choices to pick from. What we really enjoy seeing is that they do not have far too many options to pick from. Some companies overdo it and give you too much to pick from, leading you to a lot of confusion. On top of that, it always makes you wonder if they are up to the challenge of building a good tire when they make so many types. Thankfully, you do not have to worry about that with this particular brand.
Double Coin Tire Technologies and Features
One of the main things that will separate a Double Coin tire from others that are similar, or claim to be, is the technology being used. There are a ton of companies and groups out there that claim to use the latest and best machines, but Double Coin truly does this. On top of that, they have a dedicated engineering team that does R&D to ensure that you get a good, quality piece of equipment.
One feature that we feel deserves praise is that they have been able to work on making their tires extremely quiet, relatively speaking. It’s one thing to get this in a ‘normal’ road car, but it’s very tough to find it with truck tires. Some are very, very loud, so we feel that this is one area that will make you giddy to drive your truck again.
Double Coin Tire Durability
If you are going to offer up a seven year warranty, then you are obviously saying something about the product you are pushing to the consumer. No one would offer such a warranty if they did not have something there that could withstand that sort of run, and Double Coin underlines their quality in a major way by following through with their line of tires. It’s very hard to find tires that don’t cost a ton of money and have a big time warranty, and that leads you to believe that durability is going to be quite good from them.
Double Coin Tire Summary & Final Thoughts
Finding a set of tires for your truck or off road work vehicle can be far from the easiest thing to do. Prices and availability make it hard to nail down what you want and need, but it does not have to be as hard as you think. Double Coin can take a ton of the challenge out of it for, providing you with a great tire for the money. They are durable and offer an extremely generous warranty, putting them head and shoulders above many other Chinese tires on the market.
