White Car with Groundspeed Tires

Groundspeed Tires Review 2022

In searching for the best tires for you, your budget, and your car, you will encounter a number of options.  Some of them will be very well known by you, while some others will be less than familiar.  Groundspeed, very likely, is one of the latter, so today we will review them in an effort to help you decide if they are worth your consideration or not.

Groundspeed Tire Company Background & Information

When looking at Groundspeed’s website, whether it’s in their biographical section or by looking at the types of tires that they offer, there is a clear theme at play.  The saying “We make the right tires for work or play” certainly rings true, as they have tires that are made for one or the other up and down their site.  They have plenty of tires for off road excursions, all the while offering what you need for a regular old road trip without all of the frills and craziness.

This brand falls under the umbrella of Sentury Tire America and its roots can traced back to only 2016.  With the introduction of the line in that year, they come to you from LaGrange, Georgia, where they are built for very specific means.  At full capacity, the plant is said to be capable of producing as many as 12 million tires per year.  That’s a lot of tires, and it shows that they are committed to not only quality but also to quantity, too.  Of tire companies out there, Groundspeed does not boast the largest roster of options ever.

They have tires that are made for the road, some for off of the road means, and then some that are for a bit of both.  They don’t have a plethora of options, but that means they can instead concentrate on getting the ones they do have right, which should breed confidence in you, the consumer.

Groundspeed Tire Cost and Pricing

One look at pricing and costs, and you will be quite happy with what you see.  The prices that they come in at are genuine steals.  They don’t cost a fortune at all, and will be able to bring you a ton of success and happiness for a relatively low amount.  A big portion of the cost is likely to be shipping, depending on where you find them, seeing as how they are mainly sold from the western US.

It doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense, seeing as how they are made in Georgia, but that appears to be the case.  Still yet, you may find that they distribute from Georgia and won’t incur such a high cost from shipping as a result.  It’s a matter of seeing on that.  Despite their low price, we don’t see this as merely a budget brand.

They have done a lot of work at pushing the technological limits and doing research in order to provide you with the best product that they can.  Plus, they have a small number of different types of tires for you to turn to in the event that you are not happy with others that are available on the marketplace.

Groundspeed Tire Warranty

Groundspeed offers a limited warranty on all of the tires bought post-2018.  This warranty will include all six of the models we listed below in the ‘models’ section of the report, and they appear to include a 40,000-60,000 mile guarantee to them, depending on the model and size.  If you are using them properly and have them inflated as they are intended to be, then you will have some coverage in the event that they go bad before their time is up, so to speak.

This gives you a lot more confidence than having no warranty to back you, but it’s also not the strongest warranty offered in the world.  So, if you are looking for a bigger, more expansive, and longer one, then you should likely try and find one of the bigger brands.  Those will do a better job at that, though this is by no means a poor attempt at a warranty, so don’t mistake it for being so.

Tire Options

Finding Groundspeed tires could be the toughest part that falls under the ‘options’ category.  While they have options, as mentioned before, for both the road and off-road means, you don’t have an abundance of choices.  If you have a car and are on the road, then you are going to have just a couple of choices to pick from.

Some people will really enjoy this, and some will not like the fact that they have so few on offer.  This, though, is welcomed by us, as some companies just have far too many to pick from, leaving you confused by the tiniest of very small details.  As we talked about briefly above, your best bet is probably going to be to go online to find these tires if they are something you desire.  They have a number of dealerships, but all of them are located in the western United States.

This will mean that if you live anywhere from Arizona to the east, that you will need to either make a long, arduous journey or order them online.  This could deter you, even if you like the reviews and things that we have had to say about the brand.  We also really like that they have specific divisions for their tires.  They make it very easy to understand if a tire is meant for the road, off-roading, or if it can do a little bit of everything.  This always is helpful information, as you don’t have to try and decipher what they mean by using certain words.

Big thumbs up from us here!  The one annoying thing is that they are all labeled as ‘Voyagers,’ so that could confuse a few people.  It’s not the best marketing, but then again they do seem to be more about the actual tire and less about marketing, so that could be part of the strategy.

Groundspeed Tire Technologies and Features

If you want to have technological advancement and push the boundaries as far as you can with tires, then you have to put your proverbial money where your mouth is and do the research.  Groundspeed does that by utilizing Sentury Tire North America’s resources, such as a test track, research and development centers, and vast offices for marketing, warehousing, and distributing products.

Even if they are a fairly new brand, you can count on them not resting on their laurels and sticking the same old patterns that others do.  Even if they are just one of the brands in a bigger tire company, you can also be sure they won’t just be using the same old tires as the others to try and push them onto you without any extra work.

That was not the point of this brand.  Rather, it was to make an impression and to meet a need on the market for tires that can do extreme work off the road and on the road.  They meet that by ensuring you get all of the durability possible while also meeting high performance standards, too.

Groundspeed Tire Durability

It goes without saying that a set of tires, like any item you buy, is only as good as it lasts.  If it doesn’t last very long, you’re not going to be very happy, and we don’t blame you for that.  No one wants to see their stuff tear up, regardless of the price.  Groundspeed does have a generous price in most cases, but you also can be thankful for them bringing you decent durability as well.

While we don’t see Groundspeed having the same tire durability as tire manufactures that are ‘higher up the food chain,’ we still think they do a very reasonable job at it.  They are going to generally hold up quite well for you, and will definitely provide you with the right value for the price you paid.  You do get what you pay for in most occasions, but with Groundspeed you probably get a $1.25 back from the $1.00 you paid.  That’s really a nice feather in their caps.

Summary & Final Recommendations

If you are looking for a brand of tires that wants to take having fun and seriousness into account, then look no further than Groundspeed tires.  Groundspeed allows you to go out and play in the mud and sand or to ride up and down the road comfortably at reasonable speeds.  All the while you are covered by a decent warranty.  On top of that, you pay a fairly low price tag for the right to own these tires, a real win-win for you to find.  With the backing of a large tire conglomerate behind them, you know they have developed tires that will last and push the limits of what is possible.
