Arctic Claw Tires Review 2022

Searching for tires is hard work.  Between the various companies and potential uses of them, you have a difficult time selecting a set.  That becomes even more difficult if winter weather is frequently present in your environment.  Obviously, with a name like Arctic Claw, you would expect to get some help in that regard.  Today, we’ll be reviewing the brand in order to help you make a decision on them.

Arctic Claw Tire Company Information & Background

As with so many brands out there today, Arctic Claw does not stand on its own.  There are some very bi companies in the world, and one of those just so happens to be TBC Brands, which runs and operates Arctic Claw.  Arctic Claw is their line of winter tires, meant to last during the harshest time of year for you.  TBC, meanwhile, if you are unaware, is a massive company with numerous brands beneath it.  From big rig truck tires to passenger tires and all points in between, they have just about everything.

They have been around since 1956 and have 13 brands that fall under their umbrella to date.  They have expanded as a result of pushing the ideas of quality and value along with safety from the United States to other places as well.  Those places include Canada, Mexico, Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East.  TBC is a major player in the world of tires, and for that reason, Arctic Claw has to be given much more consideration than you typically would with a brand like it.

Arctic Claw Tire Cost and Pricing

Prices for Arctic Claw Tires vary greatly based on where you are looking, so putting them into one category is a little bit tough to do.  The newer models, as you’d probably expect, are going to cost higher on average than some of the ones that older and not being made.  That just makes good sense, too, as the longer a product sits the less lifespan it truly has.  In general, we have found that Arctic Claw Tires are competitive in price.  Competitive, mind you, does not mean that they are cheap.  Cheap and competitive are different things, and you are not getting a cheap tire here.  If you do find a cheap set of winter tires, you should be worried, as they just should not be trusted.

Arctic Claw Tire Warranty

We could not find much information about warranties as it directly related to Arctic Claw, but what we can tell you is that TBC Brands typically offer pretty good warranties for on their tires.  These are limited and they are going to have varying terms, so you do need to read over or ask for any information about them if you plan on buying them.  We feel like they will have at least a little bit of something attached to these tires, but it may not be the longest lasting one in the world.  So just be prepared for that eventuality.

Tire Options

As far as options go, you are pretty limited when it comes to Arctic Claw.  Sure, TBC Brands has tires of just about all varieties, but that is not the case with this particular brand.  Instead, they focus on just one thing: winter tires.  They are made to last during cold, hard months when it’s freezing outside.  This is very rough on tires, especially when the weather is sustained to be that brutal, so it does take a special kind of tire.  We have listed some of the offerings that they do have roaming out there for you, but we do want to make a couple of points.

The Winter WXI appears to be their best yet and the one they are pushing the most as it just came out a matter of months ago.  The others can likely be found, but they will likely gradually fade into obscurity as they probably are not going to be manufactured.  And if so, they definitely will not be pushed or sold as hard as the WXI.

Because of TBC Brands’ ability to make a name for itself, these tires will be a little bit easier to find than others.  However, it’s still not a huge brand name that you know and love, so it will be a little bit tougher to find them.  That means online is still probably your best bet to get a hold of them.

Arctic Claw Tire Technologies and Features

There are a lot of things that makes a winter tire stand out from a regular tire, or even an ‘all season’ tire.  Let’s think about it.  An all season tire, which is the most popular type sold due to the fact that most climates have a moderate climate that changes but is not all that extreme, is going to be decent at just about everything.  With that said, an all season tire is not going to be great, for example, on ice.  It’s just not built to be that kind of good.  It can’t do everything.

There is no one tire that is made to be great at racing and for hauling trucks, and this is the same concept.  So, right off the bat your technology has to be different.  A winter tire is going to be more flexible in order to accommodate for the drop in temperatures.  Without it, your tire will be ruined very quickly if those temps are sustained consistently.  One feature that we really find nice about the newest model, the WXI again, is the fact that it meets the standards for “severe snow service” in both the US and Canada.  This means it has the snowflake symbol on it as it has been approved.  You don’t see this every day, even from so called winter tires, and it makes these stand out.

Arctic Claw Tire Durability

One of the main issues with tires when they are faced with wintry conditions is durability.  Some just do not hold up well, and that is what causes people to desire a winter tire.  It may seem crazy for some people to have tires made just for the winter, but it makes perfect sense.  If you like in a ridiculously cold environment for long stretches, normal old tires may not cut it for you.

Under the right circumstances, the Arctic Claw tire is going to be extremely durable for you.  That means if you are primarily using them in winter, then you should be good to go.  While we don’t see anything to suggest it will fall apart on you in the warmer months, we also have to question how well it would be able to hold up in conditions far different from its intended usage.

Summary & Final Recommendations

Buying tires is tough, but finding good ones for the winter can be even tougher to do.  The conditions of snow and the extreme cold can cause a lot of headaches for you, and Arctic Claw is one very good answer to the question.  While they are not cheap, they also won’t cause you to go bankrupt and they will give you a reasonable amount of quality.  In a rough time, that’s all you can really ask for.  With a major company supporting them, you can trust them, too, which gives you all the more reason to give them a think.
